Month of the Military Child
April is the “Month of the Military Child.” Since it began in 1986, the Department of Defense has teamed with various partners to recognize the sacrifices – and to applaud – the courage of military children. More than 1.7 million American children under the age of 18 have at least one parent/guardian serving in the military. Throughout April 2012, U.S. Army organizations worldwide are encouraging civilian communities to recognize those with a military loved one. The Iowa National Guard invites you to help us recognize the nearly 11,000 military youth throughout our great state. Click here for more information.
