Citizenship Skills Recognized in 8th Grade

Nine eighth grade students were nominated as Individuals Pursuing Outstanding Decisions (IPOD). The purpose of the program is to recognize outstanding character in one of the six pillars of character. During the month of November the eighth grade students were honored according to the Character Counts trait of “citizenship.”

Recognition for the November IPOD program included a field trip to the county court house. The students met with the Mrs. Siemers from the Auditor’s office to learn about the process of voting and had a tour of the Cerro Gordo Courthouse.  The tour was followed by a trip Cabin Coffee where the students received a free drink and conversed about their tour. Keep up the great work!
